Contrary to popular belief, Boo is not a miserable baby. In fact, aren’t judgemental adults amazing?! They are quick to declare Boo as miserable and sullen simply because she doesn’t give them a toothy grin as soon as they shove their face into hers, yet they are blind to the fact that my smile is forced and fake.

Anyway, I digress. I get quite angry whenever someone says ‘she isn’t a smiley baby is she?’. Mainly because they usually say it within minutes of meeting her.

Boo doesn’t smile at everyone. She doesn’t always laugh at silly faces or noises made at her by others. It seems people expect her to perform as soon as they pick her up and then the second that she doesn’t, they proclaim she is serious and put her back down. Continue reading →
