Mix-Tape Monday: Some More Romance
Two years ago today I hitched up my dress to precariously climb the metal grilled steps up to an empty room. My heals click clacked across the wooden floor, the summer breeze whispered in from the open windows and through the jars of cut flowers on the tables.
Music played softly through speakers and I leant against the cool marble fire surround to take a breath.
I’m married. Wow.
The husband appeared in the doorway, a silhouette against the bright sunlight streaming in behind him. And then the chorus started and as the volume increased everything else faded away.

Mix-Tape Monday: Charlie?
I wish that things were different. I wish that I could tell you tales of sunning myself while Beans splashes in the paddling pool, her giggles carried by the gentle midsummer breeze. The smell of flowers and cut grass wafting through the air and an ice cold Coke in my hand…Good music on the radio. But yeah, it’s been nothing like that. It’s been…well, it’s been anything to appease tantrums and stave off cabin fever because this cold, wet summer is keeping us inside.

Mix-Tape Monday – The Foothills Of The Headlands
When summer is turning out to be far from summery, leaving us stuck inside watching the rain make tracks down the windows, what could be better than a bit of mild psychedelia to perk up the mood. I’ve been feeling a bit odd recently and losing myself in something happy in a jingly, jangly way and watching Beans break out some amazing dance moves is proving to be the perfect tonic.
If you’ve never seen Yellow Submarine then I highly recommend that you watch it, if not for the animation and the music then for the pure randomness.

Mix-Tape Monday: Steady
Another new week, another Monday morning…Another Mix-Tape Monday.
I’ve listened to some pretty questionable music this week (mainly consisting of Genesis, ELO and the Charlie & Lola theme…and this piece of wonderfulness) but you’re going to pretend you didn’t hear that right? This is the song I keep coming back to. I think purely based on the smexy guitar riffs and general awesomeness. It makes me want to haul my guitar out, dust it down and…well, and then I remember I can’t play any more, as much as I wish I could. I can still bust out a few tunes on the recorder though…Any requests?!

At long last, my neglected meme is back. I’d love for you all to join in again and create a playlist for my week. No theme, no need for words if you don’t want to type any – it’s as easy as uploading a video of your choice every Monday morning and adding it to the linky so everyone can find it. Your song can be anything; what you’re listening to right now, something you can’t stand, something that reminds you of a good time…It’s a great way of hearing old songs you had long forgotten and discovering new ones while hopping between blogs.
This is mine for the week. Purely because I have happy memories of dancing around without a care in the world as my highest heels stuck to sticky floors and my drink spilled down my jeans with every movement.
