Feeding the family can be difficult and it is sometimes hard to find a happy medium. Children can be fussy about what they eat and it is often a real struggle to cook meals everyone will enjoy – but what can you do?

Grilled Salmon

Why not try grilling a lovely piece of salmon as a treat to yourself and your family? To spruce it up a little, try adding a Dijon glaze. This dish is so easy to cook and tastes fantastic that even the fussiest of eaters will be licking their lips.

Apply half the glaze before grilling the salmon on a medium grill temperature. The texture of this dish is fantastic and has plenty of health benefits too.

Grilled asparagus is an even healthier, greener dish which is perfect as an accompaniment to salmon. It is extremely fast to prepare and requires minimal cooking effort. The asparagus just needs to be lightly seasoned with salt and pepper before being thrown on the grill at a high temperature.

Leave the asparagus to grill for approximately 7 minutes before removing and serving with freshly grated Parmesan on top.

Kielbasa kebabs

Go exotic and try some Kielbasa kebabs. Take a ring of pork kielbasa and slice into 8 chunks. Par cook some potatoes and onions and cut them into quarters. Slice 2 bell peppers into four. Add all these ingredients into a bowl or storage bag, which has oil salt, pepper and thyme in it before leaving to marinate for 10 minutes.

At the same time, take wooden kebab skewers and rest them in water for 10 minutes. Once this is done, place all the ingredients on the skewers and grill for 10 minutes. Make sure you turn the skewers every so often so that the kebabs don’t burn and cook evenly on all sides.

Investing in the right equipment

Of course, what you decide to cook is only half the battle – how you cook them is just as important. The right cooking equipment can transform any meal and there are numerous items you should consider adding to your kitchen.

A George Forman Grill is a perfect example and millions have been sold since being released. The product prides itself on being a ‘lean, mean, fat-reducing grilling machine’; this has become a popular slogan for the product which successfully delivers its promise.

The grill is accredited by former boxing champion, George Foreman and is very easy to use. Even the “technophobes” amongst us can use this machine with ease. It cooks just about any kind of food, from vegetables to meats and there is no need to flip your food either as the clamshell design has grills on both the top and bottom. Multiple foods can be cooked at once, making it perfect for cooking family meals.

There are plenty of options for all types of family with the George Foreman compact grill boasting a much smaller design but offering everything the full-sized grill does in terms of quality.
